Wilks Communications has worked with Alpha Books, publishers of The Complete Idiots Guide® series, for more than 15 years to manage a list of more than 650 titles. We have designed in-depth campaigns that help garner thousands of media placements in outlets such as USA Today, CNN and Good Morning America. In addition, we have developed a social media campaign that generates brand conversations between book gurus, authors, media, bloggers and consumers.
The Complete Idiot's Guide® to Etiquette, for example, was published over 15 years ago, but thanks to our long-term strategy, media coverage for the book continues to grow. We recognized the recession and money etiquette as an opportunity to remind readers of this reference book. Thanks to this strategy, the title received coverage in the Associated Press, CNBC and landed the author a regular writing assignment with Reuters.
To help keep Complete Idiot's Guide books at top of mind, our social media campaign provides blog, YouTube and Twitter content and conversation, with regular contests and Tweetchats to attract new audiences. This strategy, when integrated with the overall media campaign, takes advantage of a variety of outlets.
